Mechanical engineer with a minimum four years experience in design & development.
Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO).
Must be familiar with packaging equipment and automated systems.
Excellent communications skills and the ability to communicate concepts to others
Must have demonstrated ability to transform conceptual designs into reliable, affordable and producible products and systems
Must have experience with mechanical design and installation.
Extensive experience with latest version of Auto CAD and Autodesk Inventor.

Mechanical design, packaging, analysis and testing.
Prepare design specifications, drawings, test plans and reports as required.
Provide customer service and support including system documentation & preparation of operating manuals.
Ongoing client consultation and problem resolution.
Contact with vendors and customers for technical information and specifications.
Assemble and issue shop information packages comprised of pictorial drawings and bills of material for product production launch.
Ensure the ongoing integrity of product design pictorial drawings and Bills of Material, subsequently archived in the corporate information database, so that the information accurately reflects "as-Built" systems shipped to the end users.
Assist in establishing scopes of work for retrofit of existing packaging systems in service at customer operations.
Provide guidance and mentoring to junior engineers. Direct, coordinate and review activities of engineering/design groups.

Minimum five years experience as a Maintenance Mechanic in food/pharmaceutical or related packaging environment (experience with cartoners and automated packaging equipment is an asset).
Excellent communication skills are required.
Experience troubleshooting and maintaining mechanical AND electrical systems (including PLCs) is required
Capable of reading assembly drawings and BOM (Bill of Material)
Experience in packaging industry preferred
Experience TIG welding is an asset.
Own tools and safety equipment is required
Ability to work overtime as required.
Own car is required
Some travel will be required in North America
